Rev. Dr. Lloyd Strelow

Rev. Dr. Lloyd Strelow served six congregations in Michigan and California. In his later years, he assisted part-time at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Hemet, CA, where one of his primary emphases was to teach the basics of the Christian faith to all who seek to know the Lord. Pastor Strelow and his wife, Joyce, were blessed with two children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Rev. Dr. Lloyd J. Strelow passed away on July 28, 2022.

Biography

Born in Illinois, Rev. Dr. Lloyd Strelow was one of fifteen children. He left home as a freshman in high school to begin studies which helped prepare him to become a pastor. As a pastor, he served six congregations in Michigan and California. His service to the Church at Large included writing numerous sermon studies published in synodical and other resources, working with large circuit youth retreats, serving as a Circuit Counselor, working extensively with hymns and songs for worship, speaking at numerous events, and serving as Guest Pastor for the Wittenberg English Ministry in 2007 for the 490th Anniversary of the Reformation.

In his later years, Pastor Strelow assisted part-time at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Hemet, CA. His primary passion was to share God’s powerful love in Jesus Christ with others, whenever and however God gave him the opportunity.

Pastor Strelow was married to Joyce, an RN who has worked in a wide variety of medical facilities. They were blessed with two children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His hobbies included photography and travel, and he enjoyed a good laugh.

Rev. Dr. Lloyd J. Strelow passed away on July 28, 2022.
