A team of volunteers shop for groceries, and several homeless volunteers help to prepare the meal in the kitchen. A team of Bible study leaders provide spiritual nourishment for those that attend. This ministry is unique in that the homeless take ownership of it by preparing the food, setting up the meal, cleaning up afterward, and inviting friends to attend. Visit searchlightministries.com to learn more.

Youmans Family Missions Adventure

In 2018, the Youmans family (Jacob, Christy, Maile and Leilani) will be serving at an orphanage in Tanzania, Africa for about a month. James 1:27 reminds us that "pure religion" is taking care of orphans. But this is no ordinary orphanage! This is an orphanage specifically serving albino African kids. In their cultural context, these kids are rejected by society, truly the "least of these." They are orphans and outcasts, but God has provided a loving, grace-filled home for them where their basic needs are met and they are taught about the unconditional everlasting love of Jesus! The Youmans are excited to serve alongside of some incredible missionaries in Tanzania!

Riga Cathedral

The Riga Cathedral is one of the largest Lutheran cathedrals in the world. It was originally constructed in the 13th century and contains one of the world’s largest pipe organs. The cathedral is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Latvia. Despite its popularity, funds are tight, and every little bit helps the pastors to conduct worship services and serve as spiritual guides for the residents of Riga, as well as countless thousands of tourists who visit every year.

Rev. Dr. Heath Trampe, author of Extraordinary News for Ordinary People, served as a missionary in Riga in 2008–2009, and led English-speaking worship services at the cathedral. His book is a fundraiser for Riga Cathedral.

About Us

We work exclusively with Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) pastors and church workers to produce theologically solid publications that can be an encouragement to anyone—both the longtime Christian as well as the unchurched individual.

Our mission is to spread the saving message of Christ through inspirational and faith-building publications that anyone can easily understand and apply to their lives. We strive to provide resources that will strengthen our readers in their walk with Christ and empower them to be faithful witnesses to those around them.
